A1. Make It Alright
As life goes awry, sometimes we just want so badly to make it alright,
in this case we succeed. Pumping kick drums and funky noises start off
this second plate of this two part series. Smooth synth chords wash over
all the elements. Snappy percussion and syncopated rhythms call jack back
into the house for another round. When the energy comes to a head, Rudiman
drops the sublime lead melody / chord line. Meanwhile vocal snippets pop
in and out to make this a funky selection that will surely make the floor
and your soul move.

A2. Another Day
When the alarm goes off and the day begins, we know work is only
minutes away. It's just another day. Sub kicks and dithering
basslines start off this electro cut. Rudiman drops a blistering
808 loop and accompanying conga patterns to drive us up. Synths
float in and out, pulling the edge a little closer. As the track
moves on, the phased, almost fragile lead line / chords tell us
how hard it really is to want to get up and go to work.

AA1. The New Poets (vinyl bonus cut)
As time elapses and things fade, some things take the place of others.
Malcontents and rebels from one time change meaning and media to another.
This leads us to the new poets. Pumping and almost acidic baselines punch
through time to bring us this tense track. Agogo bells loops and sharp
percussion sounds lock our attentions down to the jacking groove. Simple
subversive synth blips complete this groove assault. This just might
convince you that there are new poets.

AA2. Particulars
Rudiman throws us a curve here and slaps us with an extra treat:
DOWNTEMPO BROKEN BEATS! Here he manipulates a vocal and bass
groove to groom a super funky, intensely syncopated cut. Chunky
lo-fi drums slap through the mix and bright synths breathe life
into a world that was previously sterile and satisfied with a meager existence.

AA3. One Possible Future
The epic conclusion of the vinyl and CD version of this album is truly sublime:
music that innovates without imitating the "sound" that has inspired so many.
This is the music that we hear while driving north on I-75 on a hazy holiday weekend.
As the sun disappears through the towers over looking the crowded plaza below, we
enter the heart of the "CITY." Please stow your turntables in the upright position
as this journey has come to an end.
